Terms & safety
A Little Kind is a public noticeboard. Anyone can read it. Notes stay up for 30 days. Most of what follows comes down to one thing: write as if a stranger will read it, because one will.
Some notes need an address — a porch to collect plums from, a shelter door to drop blankets at. That is the point of the board and we are not going to stop you. But understand what you are doing when you post one:
When you write a note we look for things like street addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, and ask you whether you meant to include them. You can hide them or post as written — it is your call, and we do not overrule it. Card numbers and Social Security numbers we refuse outright, because there is no version of this board where publishing those is right.
That check is a helper, not a guarantee. It will miss things. It is not a substitute for reading your own note before you pin it.
Notes lead to doorsteps, kerbsides and shelter car parks. Nearly always that is exactly as nice as it sounds. Still:
We flag members the board has not seen do anything yet. That flag is not a background check, a vetting or an endorsement — it only means we have nothing to go on. An absent flag is not a reference either.
No money moves through A Little Kind. We take no payment, hold no funds, process no donations and take no cut of anything. We are not a charity and not a fundraising platform.
If a note links to a fundraiser somewhere else, that is between you and whoever runs it. We do not verify fundraisers, we do not vouch for them, and a link on this site is not a recommendation. Treat any request for money, gift cards or bank details with the suspicion it deserves — a genuine kindness never needs your card number.
You keep ownership of your notes. Ownership of each one is registered to your own MeCentral vault, so the record belongs to you rather than to us. You give us permission to show it on the board and in the app for as long as it is up.
Where a note carries someone else's video or post from another site, it is shown as an embed of their original, with credit and a link back. We do not copy it, host it or claim it, and it stays under their terms and their control — if they take it down, it disappears here too.
Report anything that does not belong. We would rather look at ten notes that turn out fine than miss the one that does not.
A Little Kind is a noticeboard. We do not check who anyone is, verify what is written, inspect anything given away, or supervise anything that happens after two people arrange to meet. We are not a party to what you agree with each other, and what you choose to do about a note is your own decision and your own risk. Please use ordinary judgement.
Ask us and we will delete your account and your notes.
